  1. Brent Sohngen Serves as Co-Author for Forestry Chapter of the U.S. National Climate Assessment Report

    Every four years the U.S. federal government commissions the U.S. National Climate Assessment report to examine the effects of climate change on the environment, agriculture, energy production and use, land and water resources, human health and welfare, and biological diversity. The final product is delivered to the President and Congress. AEDE’s Professor Brent Sohngen is serving as a co-author for the forestry chapter of this year's report.

  7. Southgate named associate director of Subsurface Energy Resource Center (SERC)

    Douglas Southgate, professor of Agricultural, Environmental and Development Economics, has been named associate director of the Subsurface Energy Resource Center (SERC) at OSU, effective July 1, 2012. Jeffrey Daniels, professor in the School of Earth Sciences, will serve as director.

    The center, established in 2011, serves as a unbiased source of experts in the area of underground energy sources and related environmental and socioeconomics issues for citizens, businesses, and policymakers.
