Ziqian Gong

Ziqian Gong is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Develop-ment Economics at the Ohio State University. His research is focused on the Integrated assessment modeling, climate change, environmental and resource economics, and decision making under uncertainty. One of his working papers uses the real option approach to evaluate the government’s optimal strategy to conserve forest land. His job market paper is building a New Keynesian dynamic stochastic general equilibrium model to find the optimal monetary policy under climate change to reduce carbon emissions and encourage the application of renewable energy. He is a Research Assistant supervised by Dr. Yongyang Cai for three interdisciplinary NSF/USDA research projects related to environmental sustainability, land use, climate-agroecosystem, and the impact of COVID-19. His work includes helping the project leaders calibrate the models’ parameter values and solve the dynamic general equilibrium models.
