Dr. Sporleder was the first holder of the Farm Income Enhancement Endowed Chair at The Ohio State University. His expertise includes vertical coordination in food supply chains, how innovation influences global food supply chains, and how technology may influence future supply chains systems. His experience includes the faculty of Texas A&M University and a management position with the Campbell Soup Company. He is a former member of the Emerging Technologies Committee of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, DC. Dr. Sporleder was named a Fellow of the International Food and Agribusiness Management Association (IFAMA), a global professional society, for his outstanding contributions to applied economic analysis of global agrifood supply chains. He earned his PhD in agricultural economics from The Ohio State University in 1968. He is an active business consultant and serves on the board of directors for several agribusiness corporations.
