Dr. Meyer earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota and graduate degrees from Cornell University. He joined Ohio State in 1970 and served as Director of International Programs and led AEDE's Rural Finance program. His professional career has been devoted mostly to development finance in low income countries, first concerning the development of agricultural credit and more recently microfinance. He continues to conduct research and write about these subjects. He also teaches these subjects in international short courses and in consultancies with major international donor agencies.
