She currently serves as a Research Assistant for the Farm Income Enhancement Program, supervised by Dr. Ani Katchova. Her research interests include agricultural economics, futures and options markets, and forecasting. Her working paper, “Testing the Optimality of USDA’s WASDE Forecasts under Unknown Loss”, re-evaluates the optimality of USDA’s WASDE forecasts using an unknown loss method. In addition to her research, Kexin is also engaged in outreach activities and teaching assignments. She serves as an instructor for AEDE 3103 Principles of Agribusiness Finance in Autumn 2021. In this report, The Farm Income Enhancement Program analyzes USDA's annual revisions to these projections, finding that the revisions from one year to the next do not necessarily improve accuracy of the projections over the horizons.
