She received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Social Work from Cedar Crest College; an MBA from the University of Charleston; and a Ph.D. in Organization and Management from Capella University. Most recently, Parkman was an Associate Professor of Management & Organizational Behavior at Ohio Dominican University in Columbus, Ohio where she served as the Director of Graduate Business Programs. Prior to arriving in Columbus, Dr. Parkman served as the Cecil I. Walker Chair of the Jones Division of Business at the University of Charleston, in Charleston, West Virginia. She is a member of numerous professional organizations including the Academy of Management, the Association of Practical and Professional Ethics, the Midwest Academy of Management, the North American Management Society, Women for Economic Leadership & Development, and the Association for the Study of Higher Education.
