Experiential Learning

At AEDE, we are proud of our department's ability to provide our students with a one-of-a-kind experiential learning experience through all our programs. Hands-on laboratory experiments, internships, practicums, field exercises, study abroad, and undergraduate research, are all part of our undergraduate programs, where students "learn by doing" and reflect on their experiences.

Meet An aede senior Morgan

Morgan’s path led her from 4-H and FFA, to building toward her major in Agribusiness and Applied Economics. She enjoys the leadership programs, peer mentoring, and college events that help students build their network. She found a home in The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences.

Internships and Real World Experiences

Our students have the opporunity to take on real-world experience with incredible opportunities to intern across the agri-business fields. Courses within our curriculum are designed to have students interact with experienced professionals.

Agribusiness Club

The Agribusiness Club students are welcome to join the Agribusiness Club. Guests from different agribusinesses speak to students about their work and provide recruitment tips for future internship and job opportunities at their company at the club's regular meetings. With so many job options in agriculture, it might be difficult to become aware of them all at times. Examples of these opportunities include farm management, agricultural banking and finance, commodities marketing, and policy analysis.

Members also take an annual trip within the U.S. each year to tour agribusiness facilities and meet with representatives working in the field. The club’s major fundraising project includes concession stands at the Farm Science Review. The club also hosts an annual banquet and sponsors a scholarship in the department. For more information please email the club directly at osuagribusinessclub@gmail.com.
