  4. Irwin receives grant from National Science Foundation

    Elena Irwin received a new competitive grants award from the National Science Foundation to develop new spatial dynamic models of urbanization and land use change. The two-year research project is joint with Yong Chen, former AEDE graduate student and now assistant professor at Oregon State University, and Ciriyam Jayaprakash, Professor of Physics, Ohio State University.

     

  5. Economic Impacts of Ohio Shale are Focus of Study

    Economic impacts of development of oil and gas resources from Ohio's Marcellus and Utica shale is the focus of collaborative research, led by Cleveland State University’s Center for Economic Development, along with OSU’s Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics and petroleum engineers at Marietta College. The Ohio Chamber of Commerce commissioned the study for the Ohio Shale Coalition. A report is expected to be issued by the end of 2011.

  6. Experts discuss impact of natural gas production on rural Ohio

    Experts Doug Southgate and Allen Klaiber of AEDE and Mike Lloyd, extension educator for community development in Noble County, will discuss the impact of natural gas production on rural Ohio at the 2011 Farm Science Review on Tuesday, September 20th.  Please join us at 10:00 a.m. in the Tobin Building at the Molly Caren Agricultural Center in London, Ohio.

  9. Wrenn presents at Camp Resources workshop in North Carolina

    PhD candidate Doug Wrenn presented "Heterogeneous Effects of Regulation: A Nonparametric Model of Residential Land Development" at Camp Resources, August 7-9 at Wrightsville Beach, NC. Camp Resources is an annual workshop, organized by NC State University and the EPA, which focuses on environmental economics issues.
