  3. Abdoul Sam promoted to Associate Professor

    Congratulations to Abdoul Sam on his promotion to Associate Professor!  The OSU Board of Trustees approved the promotion on July 1st.  Abdoul joined the department in October of 2005.  He received his Bachelor's degree in Management from the Université Gaston Berger in Saint-Louis, Senegal.  His Master's in Agricultural and Resource Economics and PhD in Economics were both from the University of Arizona.

     

  4. $24M Tanzanian Project Approved by OSU Trustees

    The OSU Board of Trustees approved a $24 million project to improve agricultural productivity and food security in Tanzania. One objective of the project is to provide training for 120 Tanzanian graduate students to help improve agricultural practices, develop agricultural value chains, and improve nutrition in this developing country. Another is to facilitate and fund collaborative research on food security and nutrition, involving faculty from OSU and the five other consortium universities working jointly with Tanzanian researchers.
  5. Professor Jones wins Bill Williams Diversity Award

    Eugene Jones, winner of the individual 2011 Bill Williams Diversity Award, was recognized at the CFAES Recognition Banquet held May 19th at the Ohio Union. This award recognizes individuals and groups who have contributed to diversity and inclusion efforts within the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences.

  6. OSU to host Ohio Oil and Gas Law Symposium

    With shale development hitting Ohio at a rapid pace, OSU’s Agricultural & Resource Law Program will host the fi rst Ohio Oil and Gas Law Symposium titled “The New Ohio Oil and Gas Boom: Drilling into Legal Issues,” on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the Longaberger Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio.

    The day-long educational program for attorneys will address many of the initial legal issues related to development of Ohio’s Marcellus and Utica shale resources.

    Thanks to everyone who donated to the 2011 Operation Feed Drive. AEDE collected 81 food items and $73.00 which will provide 227 meals. Thank you to Diana Lantz for organizing this year’s drive!
