  1. 2012 Agribusiness/NAMA Club Annual Banquet Honorees

    The 2012 Agribusiness/NAMA Club Annual Banquet was held on Thursday, April 5th, at The Fawcett Center on the OSU Columbus campus.   A number of awards were presented. Shannon Horn received the Outstanding Senior award. The Outstanding First Year Member went to Levi Morrow and Kristin Kugler was named Outstanding Transfer Student. Barry Ward, club advisor, was chosen as Outstanding Professor.

    At the 51st Southern Regional Science Association (SRSA) Meeting, held March 21-25 in Charlotte, NC, graduate student Amanda Weinstein presented her work titled, "Shale Gas Booms and Local Labor Market Restructuring."   
  3. Four AEDE alumni honored at College Awards Luncheon

    The College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences Alumni Society held their annual Alumni Awards Luncheon on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Fawcett Center of Tomorrow.  Congratulations to the following AEDE alumni award recipients!

    Blaine Crosser, Distinguished Alumni Award, for 33 years of exceptional service and leadership at Select Sires, Inc, and for his dedication in developing and improving the Guernsey breed.

  4. Conservation Strategy Fund receives MacArthur Award

    California-based Conservation Strategy Fund (CSF) was recognized recently with the 2012 MacArthur Award for Creative and Effective Institutions. CSF is one of 15 organizations from around the world to receive the prestigious prize from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. With offices spanning five countries in North, Central and South America, CSF works to promote conservation through economics training and analysis.

  8. Irwin presents J.W. Fanning Lecture at University of Georgia

    Elena Irwin gave the J.W. Fanning Lecture at the Department of Agricultural Economics at University of Georgia on January 20, 2012. She presented joint work with Jill Clark entitled “The Implications of the Housing Bust and Other Recent Trends for Urban, Suburban, and Exurban Growth.”  The annual J.W. Fanning lecture is sponsored by the Agricultural Economics Association of Georgia.
