  1. Conservation Strategy Fund receives MacArthur Award

    California-based Conservation Strategy Fund (CSF) was recognized recently with the 2012 MacArthur Award for Creative and Effective Institutions. CSF is one of 15 organizations from around the world to receive the prestigious prize from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. With offices spanning five countries in North, Central and South America, CSF works to promote conservation through economics training and analysis.

  5. Irwin presents J.W. Fanning Lecture at University of Georgia

    Elena Irwin gave the J.W. Fanning Lecture at the Department of Agricultural Economics at University of Georgia on January 20, 2012. She presented joint work with Jill Clark entitled “The Implications of the Housing Bust and Other Recent Trends for Urban, Suburban, and Exurban Growth.”  The annual J.W. Fanning lecture is sponsored by the Agricultural Economics Association of Georgia.

  9. Jill Clark Receives CFAES Staff Advisory Council Innovation Award

    Jill Clark recently received the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences Staff Advisory Council Innovation Award. This award is presented to staff who have developed and/or participated in project initiatives and operations improvements that enhance CFAES, Extension, ATI, or OARDC and its mission.
  10. AEDE Alumnus Vice Admiral Thomas R. Wilson receives 2011 Alumni Medalist Award

    The department is honored to recognize AEDE alumnus Vice Admiral Thomas R. Wilson, chosen by The Ohio State University Alumni Association for the 2011 Alumni Medalist Award. Wilson graduated from OSU in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, majoring in Agricultural Economics. After graduation, he attended the Navy Officer Candidate School where he began an illustrious career in U.S. intelligence, serving in numerous positions, most notably as the 13th Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency.
