[COLUMBUS] Students in the Salesmanship in Agribusiness and Agriculture class – AEDE 3121 – acquire real-world experience during their capstone project in the form of a Sales Banquet.
The capstone project involves students selecting a product or service, researching the features, advantages, and benefits of that service or product, and then presenting a professional sales pitch to a member of the Ohio Agribusiness community.
“We were fortunate to have nine judges attend the banquet this year to role play the sales call and provide students with feedback on their performance,” said Chris Williams, Lecturer with the Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics. “We are very grateful to the judges who shared their time and insights. The direct interaction is quite valuable as the students work toward graduation.”
Thank you to the following judges, who were in attendance:
- Jeff Goodbar – Sunrise Co-Op
- Steve Emery – Nutrien Ag Solutions
- Steve Mossbarger – Nutrien Ag Solutions
- Mark Roeth – Mercer Landmark
- Paige Rothert – Nutrien Ag Solutions
- Chasitie Euler – BASF
- Dave Sanders – Farm Credit Mid-America
- Alicia Barterian – Integrated Ag Services
- Gerrett Davison – Nutrien Ag Solutions (and an alumna of AEDE 3121)
After the students completed their sales calls and received feedback, the group enjoyed a meal which provided opportunities for the students to network with the industry professionals.
