COLUMBUS, Ohio — Students in Ohio State’s Salesmanship in Agribusiness and Agriculture course showcased their skills before leading industry professionals this week, gaining real-world feedback and networking opportunities. Offered by the Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics (AEDE) in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES), the course prepares students for careers in agricultural sales and marketing.
“The Sales Banquet gives our students a chance to deliver a real sales pitch and build their confidence,” said AEDE Lecturer Chris Williams. “Networking with company leaders often leads to internships and career opportunities as well.”
Industry partners included Nutrien, Integrated Ag Services, Mercer Landmark, Farm Credit Mid-America, and Rosen’s, Inc., whose representatives provided valuable feedback and industry insights.
This capstone experience, included in the AEDE 3121 course, equips students with practical skills and professional connections, bridging classroom learning with industry expectations.
