This past Friday, October 6, 2023, the Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics (AEDE) held an Alumni and Friends Homecoming Reception. Faculty, staff, students, and alumni came together to eat, remember shared experiences, and make future plans. Attendees honored Jim Chambers, who received the CFAES Distinguished Alumni Award this year; both Jim and Julie Chambers graduated from the Department of Agricultural Economics, and the department was glad to reconnect with them. Current students in the Agribusiness Club shared plans for exciting student activities, while faculty and alumni discussed shared interests in economic research that can advance agriculture and environmental sustainability. AEDE looks forward to Homecoming again next year, and is already starting to plan events to engage alumni in 2024.
