AEDE Welcomes Research Assistant Professor Charity Troyer Moore

Oct. 28, 2024

The Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics (AEDE) is excited to welcome our newest faculty member, Research Assistant Professor Charity Troyer Moore. Dr. Troyer Moore earned her Ph.D. in Agricultural, Environmental and Development Economics and M.A. in Economics from The Ohio State University, and a B.A. in Business Management from Asbury University (Wilmore, KY). After receiving her Ph.D. from OSU, Dr. Troyer Moore moved to India and started Evidence for Policy Design India, now known as Inclusion Economics India Centre.

Dr. Troyer Moore’s research examines how the design and implementation of public policies can address inequalities within households and communities to promote equitable economic opportunities for marginalized groups. She also studies the ways in which information and incentives interact within bureaucracies to influence service delivery to marginalized populations, and she has conducted research to better understand difficult-to-measure features of informal institutions and bureaucratic function. Along with her research, Dr. Troyer Moore has developed long-term research-policy engagements in India, led by the team at Inclusion Economics India Centre, that aim to support policy decision makers with data and evidence, and she worked with government officials as part of capacity building work she developed while working at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Evidence for Policy Design.

Dr. Troyer Moore is looking forward to interacting with the AEDE faculty and students and expanding her research to include questions relevant to climate change adaptation in low and middle-income settings.
