At the 51st Southern Regional Science Association (SRSA) Meeting, held March 21-25 in Charlotte, NC, graduate student Amanda Weinstein presented her work titled, "Shale Gas Booms and Local Labor Market Restructuring."
Mike Betz presented two papers with Mark Partridge titled, "Why do Localities Provide Economic Development Incentives? Geographic Competition, Political Constituencies, and Government Capacity," and "Country Road Take me Home - Migration Patterns in the Appalachia America and Place-Based Policy."
Mark Partridge was elected as a SRSA fellow.
