Stan Thompson and Allan Lines host visitors from the Ukraine in onCampus
Research by AEDE faculty and graduate students was recently presented at the 29th annual International Conference of Agricultural Economists (ICAE), held from August 8-14, 2015 in Milan, Italy.
Four researchers from the Ukraine are learning first-hand about American agriculture systems from faculty at Ohio State. Through the USDA’s Agricultural Economics Faculty Exchange Program (FEP), which is administered through the organization’s Foreign Agricultural Service, the researchers – Nataliia Gerasymenko, Oksana Makarchuk, Inna Mazii, and Olha Ostroverkh – are spending four months in the U.S.
This year AEDE welcomes Dr. Mauricio Vaz Lobo Bittencourt as a visiting professor to the department. Bittencourt comes to AEDE from his home country of Brazil, where he is a full professor in the Department of Economics at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR). At UFPR he teaches econometrics, economic development, international trade, and microeconomics courses for undergraduate and graduate students.
Stan Thompson, Rico Ihle, and Bernhard Brummer co-authored an article, which appeared in the European Review of Agricultural Economics, titled "Structural Change in European Calf Markets: Decoupling and the Blue Tongue Disease." A pdf of the article is available for viewing.
