Fulfilling the land-grant mission
As part of the conrnerstone college of the university, our faculty fulfill Ohio State's land-grant mission by providing knowledge and research that meets localized needs of communities across the state. Our primary way of engaging with these communities is through our outreach work with Ohio State University Extension. The Extension system is the world's largest non-formal education system, with Ohio State Extension having an office in each of Ohio's 88 counties.
We provide research and technical knowledge to help Ohio communities thrive economically and successfully navigate challenges related to agriculture, the environment and the rural-urban interface.
