The Department of Agricultural, Environmental and Development Economics (AEDE) at Ohio State University seeks applications to the position of Lecturer. Beginning in August, 2017, the appointee will be expected to teach three to four courses during fall and spring semester and to provide outstanding student mentoring.
Course topics may involve microeconomic principles, managerial economics, data analysis, econometrics, regional economics, economic policy, and development economics, or other topics of mutual interest to the department and the applicant. The exact number and mix of courses to be taught will depend on the needs of the department, the strengths of the appointee and any non-course activity load taken on by the appointee. The appointee will be involved broadly in the academic life of the department. This is a three-year fixed term contract that may be renewable depending upon departmental needs and appointee performance.
Applicants should demonstrate evidence of outstanding teaching and a commitment to undergraduate mentoring. A Ph.D. in agricultural economics, economics, business administration or a related field is preferred, though applicants with other relevant professional degrees and relevant professional experience will be given consideration.
Please send (1) a statement of courses the candidate is able to teach, (2) a complete CV, (3) three letters of recommendation, (4) evidence of teaching, advising and/or mentoring effectiveness, and (5) a statement of teaching and student development philosophy. Candidates who apply by March 30, 2017 will be given full consideration.
Application Materials should be sent to AEDE-Search@osu.edu in PDF format.
