    Frank Lupi, Professor, Agricultural, Food and Resource Economics at Michigan State University, will present the Havlicek Memorial Seminar on Dec. 11th in Room 105 of the Agricultural Administration Building (2120 Fyffe Road) as part of the AEDE Applied Economics Seminar Series. His presentation will focus on "Recreation Demand for Great Lakes Beaches and Responses to Algae." The Havlicek Memorial Seminar is sponsored by funds from the Havlicek Memorial Fund, which honors Joseph Havlicek, Jr., former AEDE Professor and Chair.

    The Ohio State University Agricultural Policy and Outlook Conference Series is organized yearly by AEDE. The conferences feature a series of meetings updating Ohio communities on policy changes, key issues, and market behavior with respect to farm, food, energy resources, and the environment.

    Cassie Phillips, Vice President, Sustainable Forestry at Weyerhaeuser, will present the Environmental Policy Initiative Seminar on Dec. 4th in Room 105 of the Agricultural Administration Building (2120 Fyffe Road) as part of the AEDE Applied Economics Seminar Series. Her presentation will focus on "Ecosystem Services and Natural Capital: Are they Assets or Liabilities?" The Environmental Policy Initiative, which is led by AEDE's Professor Brent Sohngen, focuses on stimulating and focusing systematic collaboration in environmental policy through research, graduate and undergraduate education, communication with the policy community, and interaction with the national and international community of scholars in environmental policy.
