Association of Ohio Recyclers 2012 Conference: Sustainable Materials Management

Oct 29, 2012 through Oct 30, 2012 (All day)

Neil L. Drobny, the Program Director for AEDE's joint undergraduate major focused on Environment, Economics, Development and Sustainability (EEDS), will chair the 2012 Association of Ohio Recyclers (AOR) Annual Conference, in his role as the Executive Director of AOR.

The conference will be held from October 29 to 30, 2012 at the Cincinnati Zoo Conference Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. The theme for this year’s conference is “sustainable materials management” and attendees will include Ohio recycling professionals, businesses and policymakers.

John Shegerian, Chairman and CEO of Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), the nation’s leading recycler of electronic waste will be the keynote speaker at the conference. Shegerian’s presentation will focus on urban mining, which is the process of reclaiming compounds and elements from products, buildings and waste, and is a growing trend in recycling that has presented new job opportunities and environmental solutions.

The convening sponsor for the meeting is Rumpke Recycling, which is headquartered in Cincinnati and serves Ohio and surrounding states with advanced, state-of-the-art recycling services.
