Effective public policy responds and adapts to emerging sources and types of environmental risk threatening the health and safety of citizens and their environment.  The Environmental Policy Initiative's second annual public policy symposium will explore environmental risks and how they affect public policy.  It will expand the awareness of risk issues among our audience of academics, policy makers, and stakeholders, by stimulating research, engaging policy experts, and educating the broader audience.  This symposium is issue-oriented, and will leave people with a policy agenda for responding to contemporary environmental risks.  The highlight of the symposium will be four keynote addresses by internationally recognized experts on environmental risk.  Local policy makers and experts, drawn from state and local agencies and the university community, will discuss Ohio's evolving public policy response to environmental risks.
