The Integrated
Dairy Risk Management Education & Research Program, i-DRMER, is an interdisciplinary
educational and research program for the nations dairy producers, milk marketing
cooperatives, milk handlers, dairy manufacturers, and financial support industry.
Focusing on a dynamic economic enviroment and changing
agricultural policies, i-DRMER is intended to help you understand and manage contemporary risks
associated with milk yields, herd size expansion, input and output market price
volatility. The i-DRMER program will bring
together public and private experts from the physical sciences, economic science,
management and financial science and agribusiness management to assist you in gaining a
better understanding of alternative risk management and marketing opportunities.
Methods for managing the farm business, financial
considerations, cash flows, profit potentials, crop insurance choices, legal
interpretations, marketing tools and opportunities, these are all important components of i-DRMER Program.
Available from the i-DRMER program
are educational curriculum materials and workbooks, MRP / Dairy - an interactive
marketing analysis and planning software program, and a central risk managment Internet
website.
Educational materials will be distributed via leading
edge electronic media and through regional symposia and workshops.
