Biographical Info

Dr. Tweeten was Ohio State's first Andersons Chair in Agricultural Marketing, Trade, and Policy. He retired in 2000 but remains active in research and outreach activities within the discipline. Primary research interests are agricultural policy and international trade. Other research interests include macroeconomic policy, resource economic policy, international development, and human resource development. Recent studies include regionalization in trade; strategic trade theory; farmland preservation; the changing structure of agriculture; farm policy after commodity programs; optimal soil conservation; the economics of carbon sequestration; and the impact of the demographic transition on agricultural trade. He speaks nationally on topics related to agricultural trade, agricultural policy, macroeconomic policy, agricultural outlook, and rural development.
