Applied Econometrics; Spatial Econometrics and GIS Application in Environmental Economics, Food Security and Environmental Degradation; Non-Market Valuation, Biomass Energy. (Faculty Advisor: Dr. Fred Hitzhusen)
P. Wilner Jeanty’s research area is Environmental and Resource Economics. He is currently working on assessing Ohio biomass resources for energy potential using geographic information systems (GIS), estimating non-market benefits of using biodiesel fuel in Ohio fleets and evaluating the impacts of “bad” governments and environmental degradation on food security in developing countries. He is strongly interested in applying spatial econometrics and GIS methods in valuation and management of environmental and natural resources. Before joining the Ohio State University, Mr. Jeanty was employed as a Consultant for the Technical Assistance for Forest and Parks Protection Project jointly funded by the World Bank and the Haitian Government. He also conducted many agro-economic studies for the Canadian Center of Studies and International Cooperation based in Haiti (CECI-Haiti). | ||||||
