The Ohio Responses to Federal
Environmental Regulation Conference was
held on September 26 and 27, 2006 on
the Ohio State University campus in
Columbus. Ninety-three people from
government, NGOs, business, and
universities met to discuss their common
interest and differing perspectives on
how Ohio will face its significant
challenges in several central areas of
environmental policy - water quality,
air quality, and climate change/energy
policy. The conference featured
presentations by leading practitioners
and scholars from around the country.
Diverse perspectives from Ohio were also
well-represented among speakers and
panelists.
Much of the factual information can be
found in the downloadable presentations
from the conference. The high quality of
discussion and recognition of the need
to move forward by both innovating and
cooperating cannot be fully captured in
the speakers slides, but is an
encouraging sign of an improved
environmental policy climate in the
state. Ohio State University is
committed to continuing as a catalyst
for effective environmental responses in
cooperation with multiple partners.
