Founded in 2012, The STEAM Factory at Ohio State is a grassroots initiative that facilitates collaborative research, teaching and outreach. This diverse faculty network has grown from 10 founding members to over 120 faculty across 69 departments and 17 colleges/institutes at OSU, with an ecosystem of more than 30 partners across the city of Columbus.

AEDE faculty members Ian Sheldon, H. Allen Klaiber, and Sathya Gopalakrishnan travelled to Istanbul, Turkey from June 28th to July 2nd to present their research at the 5th World Congress of Environmental and Resource Economists.
Maintaining its strong presence in the field of regional economics, AEDE recently sent a dozen faculty members and doctoral students to Atlanta, Georgia for the 60th annual North American meeting of the Regional Science Association International (RSAI), which was held from November 13-16, 2013.
AEDE’s strong presence studying the economic impact of climate change has been further demonstrated with the selection of Dr. Sathya Gopalakrishnan, AEDE assistant professor working in the field of environmental economics, to participate in a national symposium for early career scientists focusing on interdisciplinary climate change research.
