Agribusiness/NAMA ClubThe Agribusiness/NAMA (National Agricultural Marketing Association) Club consists of members from different majors within the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. They meet bi-monthly on campus and have guest speakers from various agribusinesses. This enables students to meet prospective employers and learn about internship opportunities. The club's major fund raising projects are the concession stands at the Farm Science Review. The club also has an annual banquet. The Agribusiness/NAMA marketing team competes nationally every year. They have to develop a complete marketing strategy for a product which includes an oral presentation. Past products have included low-fat Italian chicken sausage, a fungicide for apples, and low-fat chocolate covered dried sweet corn. Previous competitions have been held in Indianapolis, Orlando, St. Louis, and San Diego. The team is advised by faculty members and assisted by agribusiness representatives. Club members who are Agribusiness and Applied Economics majors assist the department in recruiting students through their presentations at the College Career Fair and the Experience College for a Day program. The club communicates with their members and incoming freshmen throughout the summer. Everyone receives a letter regarding the Farm Science Review and other activities which take place at the beginning of Autumn Quarter. Club officers list their addresses and phone numbers so that freshmen can contact them. The officers for 2007-2008 are listed below. Please contact them if you have questions regarding the club.
