NAMA Marketing Team
Sponsored by OSU
AED Economics
The NAMA Marketing
Team is an undergraduate activity that covers each academic year. The team is
sponsored by the Department of Agricultural, Environmental & Development
Economics. Members organize in Fall Quarter and work through to a national
competition in the Spring Quarter. Undergrads participating in the program come
primarily from the sponsoring department but may include students from various
departments across campus. Students develop a product idea, do a market
analysis, prepare market entry and marketing strategy plans, then "pitch" the
idea to a panel of judges representing a board of a cooperative. This activity
allows students to learn applied marketing, market research and communication
skills while interacting with marketing and business leaders from the food and
agriculture sector.
OSU's marketing team
has recently focused its efforts on food products...especially those with some
health attributes. Take a look at some creative ideas and how we did.
