AEDE Faculty Participation at the 2012 Farm Science Review

The 2012 Farm Science Review begins today and AEDE faculty, staff and students will actively participate in many events this year. The Farm Science Review offers Review participants an opportunity to interact with agricultural economists, farm management specialists and Extension educators from the department.
 
The Farm Science Review, which celebrates its 50th show this year and runs from September 18-20, 2012, is sponsored by The Ohio State University's College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, OSU Extension, and the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center. The Farm Science Review is held at Ohio State’s 2,100 acre Molly Caren Agricultural Center, which is located two miles north of London, Ohio on US Route 40. Throughout its history, the Farm Science Review has been at the forefront of showcasing the future of agriculture. Additionally, AEDE faculty will provide support to the Farm Business Office at the Farm Science Review, which is located in the Francine Firebaugh Building, and which gives Review participants the opportunity to interact one-on-one with Ohio State University Extension Farm Management Specialists, OSU Agricultural Economists, and OSU Extension Educators.  Review participants can seek advice on various farm business and management topics including budgeting, cash rents, flexible cash rent arrangements, land purchase issues, input buying, farm transition planning, estate planning, retirement planning, farm record keeping and analysis, tax management, human resources management, risk management issues and more. OSU Extension Enterprise Budgets will be available along with “Ohio Farm Custom Rates 2012” and “Western Ohio Cropland Values and Cash Rental Rates 2011-12”.
