Precision Farming

Precision farming, also known as site specific farming or variable rate application technology, represents a new technology with substantial promise to help farmers make more economical use of resources as well as presenting the opportunity to reduce use of fertilizer and herbicide inputs, allowing for less impact on the environment. Whether or not this technology lives up to either of these promises is yet to be determined, but this is a technology that farmers should watch closely. Following are several Internet sites that address this emerging technology.
